1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using FlatmatesHub (the "Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms, conditions, and policies contained in this Terms of Service Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform. These terms apply to all users, including but not limited to renters, property owners, and visitors.

2. Use License

FlatmatesHub grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes. Permission is granted to:

  • Browse property listings and user profiles
  • Create and manage your personal account
  • Communicate with other users through our messaging system
  • Post property listings (if applicable)
  • Download information for personal reference

This is a grant of a license, not a transfer of ownership. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

3. User Accounts and Registration

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your password
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized use
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. User Conduct and Responsibilities

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Engage in harassment, bullying, or abusive behavior
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Spam, phishing, or engage in malicious activities
  • Solicit or facilitate illegal transactions
  • Collect or track personal information without consent
  • Interfere with platform functionality or security
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to hack our systems

5. Property Listings and Accuracy

Property owners and renters are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of their listings. By posting a listing, you warrant that:

  • You have authority to post the property
  • All information is accurate and not misleading
  • Photos are authentic and current
  • Pricing and terms are correct
  • The property complies with all local regulations

FlatmatesHub does not guarantee the accuracy of listings and is not liable for disputes arising from listing information.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on FlatmatesHub, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of FlatmatesHub or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws. You may not:

  • Reproduce or distribute our content without permission
  • Modify or create derivative works
  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices
  • Sell, rent, or lease our content

User-generated content (listings, messages) remains your property, but you grant us a license to use it on the Platform.

7. Payment and Billing

If you make purchases through our Platform:

  • All fees and charges must be paid in full before services are rendered
  • All payments are non-refundable except as provided in our Refund Policy
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
  • You are responsible for all taxes associated with your purchase
  • Disputed charges must be reported within 30 days

8. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • FlatmatesHub is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
  • We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness
  • We do not warrant the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability

You use the Platform at your own risk. We recommend verifying information independently and exercising caution when meeting other users.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FlatmatesHub, its officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, violation of these terms, or infringement of any rights of third parties.

10. Termination

FlatmatesHub may terminate or suspend your account:

  • For violation of these terms
  • For illegal activity
  • For non-payment of fees
  • At our sole discretion with or without cause

Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations for services already rendered.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes between users or with FlatmatesHub shall be resolved as follows:

  • First, attempt amicable resolution through communication
  • FlatmatesHub offers mediation services for user-to-user disputes
  • Disputes shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where you reside
  • Both parties agree to binding arbitration rather than court proceedings

12. Modifications to Terms

FlatmatesHub reserves the right to modify these terms of service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of the Platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and FlatmatesHub regarding your use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect, and the invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid.
